ACM INDIA ANNUAL EVENT 2024
The flagship Annual Event of ACM India Council will be hosted by National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in Bhubaneswar, the historic “Temple City of India”, on 10th February 2024.
ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery is the world’s largest educational and scientific society for computing, uniting educators, researchers and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources and address the field’s challenges.
ACM supports the professional growth of its members by providing opportunities for life-long learning, career development, and professional networking. ACM recognizes excellence in computer science and information technology through a host of prestigious awards, including the Turing Award (aka Nobel Prize in Computing).
ACM India was launched in 2010 to focus on and scale ACM’s offerings in the country, and has been recording a healthy growth in India over the last decade. ACM India Annual Event is an occasion for India’s computing community to come together, along with key contributors from across the world and celebrate recent achievements in Computing. ARCS 2023, as well as the ACM India-W Annual Summit for Women in Computing are co-located with the ACM India Annual Event.

The ACM India Council extends a warm invitation to three key events of ACM India, representing and celebrating some of the best contributions in Computing from across the world and India. We look forward to meeting you in person, at National Institute of Science Education and Research Bhubaneswar (NISER). Prior registration is required in order to attend. ARCS Symposium, 8-9 February 2024
The 18th Academic Research and Careers for Students (ARCS) Symposium will take place on 8 and 9 February 2024. On behalf of the PC chairs Arpita Patra and Karthik Ramachandra, we are pleased to invite you to attend the ARCS (formerly called IRISS) Symposium. The Symposium will feature research scholars in Computer Science showcasing their recently published work in highly ranked conferences and journals. The two-day Symposium will also host several invited talks – Keynote addresses by Geetha Manjunath (CEO and founder of NIRAMAI Health Analytix) and Neeraj Kayal (Recipient of Gödel prize, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, Infosys Prize and Fulkerson Prize), talks by early career researchers spanning academia and industry, talk by the ACM India Early Career Researcher awardee Siddharth Barman, and ACM India Doctoral Dissertation awardees Pranjal Dutta and Jogendra Nath Kundu, showcasing the best of research in Computer Science in the country. An industry panel discussion, Ask Me Anything sessions, all make it an exciting event to attend!
ACM-W India Annual Summit for Women in Computing, 8 February 2024
ACMI-W every year celebrates the incredible achievements and contributions of women in the field of computing. This ACMI-W Annual summit proves to be a testament to the remarkable progress we have made in promoting gender diversity and inclusion in the world of technology.
This year’s edition of ACMI-W Annual summit houses a panel discussion titled “Navigating the Leadership Labyrinth: Strategies and Stories” aimed at providing a comprehensive exploration of the role of collaboration and confidence in women’s leadership, providing both insights and actionable advice for attendees, by binging the correct mix of industry and academia leaders across the country.
The event highlight is a keynote address by Prof. Nutan Limaye, recipient of ACM India Outstanding Contributions in Computing by a Woman (OCCW) 2023 Award. Co-located with ACM India Annual Event and ARCS, the summit creates a platform for sharing the knowledge, ideas and experiences, thereby facilitating the career growth of women in computing.
ACM India Annual Event, 10 February 2024
Both these events are co-located with the ACM India’s flagship Annual Event to be held on February 10, 2024. The Annual Event is a great occasion to celebrate our achievements in computing, and network with representatives of the strong computing community in India as well as eminent international contributors to computing. This year the event will feature talks by Pravin Bhagwat (Founder 14Trees Foundation), Shriram Krishnamurthi (SIGSOFT Influential Educator awardee) , Yael Kalai (ACM Computing Prize recipient), and a fireside chat / AMA with ACM Turing Award laureate Robert Metcalfe. Another highlight of the event is the award ceremony to felicitate the recipients of ACM Gordon Bell award, ACM India Doctoral Dissertation Award, Early Career Researcher Award, Outstanding Contribution to Computing Education Award, Outstanding Contributions to Computing by a Woman Award, and Chapter Awards. We are also delighted to share that ACM President Yannis Ioannidis, CEO Vicki Hanson and COO Pat Ryan will be attending the event too.
