About
ARCS 2024
Academic Research and Careers for Students (ARCS) is an annual symposium organized by ACM India where research scholars of Computer Science and allied areas in India are invited to showcase their recent (accepted) work. ARCS provides a much needed forum for PhD students to interact with one another and with other experts in the area.
Apart from the contributed talks and poster presentations, ARCS comprises talks by the ACM-India Doctoral Dissertation Award recipient (DDA), Early Career Research (ECR) Awardee and an invited Keynote Speaker. Finally, we will also have several panel discussions.
The audience comprises students, faculty and industry leaders from across India coming together in an interactive environment, such as panel discussions, informal “Ask me Anything” sessions with the ARCS speakers as well as Annual Event invitees like Turing Award laureates.

If you are a PhD student in India, working in any area of Computer Science, and have a paper accepted/published in a conference/journal — please enter the details of your publication here. We will select a subset of these papers for poster presentation at ARCS, co-located with ACM India Annual Event, to be held in NISER Bhubaneshwar February 2024.
We are only looking for accepted/published work for this venue, as the goal is networking with fellow PhD students in India and research mentors in academia and industry. The selected students will be given limited travel and accommodation support to attend ARCS and the ACM India Annual Event. Deadline for paper registration is Oct 31, 2023. Decisions will be sent by Dec 15, 2023.
ACMI-W Annual Summit
ACMI-W Annual Summit for Women in Computing
ACM Annual Summit for Women in Computing every year celebrates the incredible achievements and contributions of women in the field of computing. This annual summit is a testament to the remarkable progress we have made in promoting gender diversity and inclusion in the world of technology.
Co-located with ACM India Annual Event and ARCS, the summit creates a platform for sharing the knowledge, ideas and experiences, thereby facilitating the career growth of women in computing. The summit creates a forum for recognizing the immense talent and potential of women in computing and also provides an opportunity for the participants to interact with the experienced researchers from academia and industry across the globe. The main highlight of the summit is the keynote address by the Outstanding Contribution in Computing by a Woman (OCCW) award winner.

PhD Clinic
ACM India PhD Clinic at ARCS 2024
ACM India’s PhD Clinic was launched in Sept 2020, facilitates CS PhD students from all over the country to obtain inputs and advice from diverse expert mentors located in premier academic institutions and industry. The PhD Clinic has been very successful in helping students, with some representative feedback from students:
“The way she answered the questions was so good! She shared personal experiences as well and that made me connect to her.”
“He guided me in such a nice way about how to find a research topic, what areas can be there and how I should align my research in a proper manner.”
In ARCS 2024, you will get to meet fantastic mentors, we will have 1-n-1 in-person Clinic sessions for PhD students. Selected students will get travel support to attend ARCS and interact with mentors. It is mandatory to attend all days of the conference and the Clinic sessions for students who are getting supported by the conference.
